CHANA DAL FARA OR BHAKOSA
INGREDIENTS for dough
1cup whole wheat flour
¼ cup semolina( optional)
½ tsp salt
1tsp ghee
INSTRUCTIONS
knead the dough ( medium like paratha atta)
Leave to rest for 30 mins
Make equal dough balls
INGREDIENTS FOR STUFFING
½ cup chana dal ( soaked overnight )
2-3 green chillies, chopped
1 inch Ginger
Salt
¼ tsp ajwain
1tsp red chilli powder
1tsp Coriander powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp Dry mango powder(amchur)
¼ tsp Garam masala
Pinch of Hing
Coriander leaves
INSTRUCTIONS
grind the dal with ginger, chillies without water into a coarse paste
Add all other ingredients
Your stuffing is ready
LET'S MAKE CHANA DAL FARA
roll out the dough balls into circular disc shapes
Add 1 tbsp of stuffing
Seal edges with little water
In the meanwhile keep water to boil in a vessel
Put the fara into the boiling water
Cook on a medium flame for 15-20 min
Once cooked, remove on a sieve,cool and slice
LET'S GIVE TADKA
heat mustard oil in a pan
Add cumin seeds
Add hing,haldi , coriander powder, red chilli powder, salt and amchur
Fry for 1-2 minutes
Add the fara and toss well
Garnish with coriander leaves
