EASY GREEN MOONG DAL
INGREDIENTS:
1cup green Moong soaked
1onion sliced
1tomato chopped
1tbspb ginger paste
1tsp garlic paste
1-2 tsp Red chili powder
¼ tsp Turmeric powder
1tbsp Shilpa’s Masala Mill Garam masala
1tbsp Kasuri Methi
Pinch of Hing
1 Bay leaf
1small piece of Cinnamon
1tsp Cumin seeds
Salt to taste
1-2 green chilies
Lemon juice to taste
Coriander leaves
2-3 tbsp Ghee ( oil can be substituted)
INSTRUCTIONS
pressure cook the soaked Moong dal with enough water, salt, turmeric, little onion, and a little tomato. Cool and keep aside
Heat ghee in a pan
Add cumin seeds, cinnamon, bay leaf, and hing. Sauté for 1-2 mins
Add onion
Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for 2-3 mins
Add powdered masalas and continue to fry for 3-4 mins ( add little water if masala tends to burn)
Add tomatoes and fry until oil separates on surface and sides
Add Kasuri Methi and fry for a min
Add the cooked Moong dal
Add hot water to adjust dal consistency
Adjust seasoning
Add green chilies and cover and cook for 8-10 mins
Adjust seasoning
And your easy, nutritious green Moong dal is ready
Serve garnished with coriander and lemon juice
