VADA PAV SERVED WITH GHATI MASALA - Mumbai’s favorite street food
INGREDIENTS for vadas
400 gms boiled potatoes ( peeled and roughly crushed with hand)
1 tbsp of green chilly and garlic , roughly crushed
1 tsp mustard seeds
Pinch of hing
¼ tsp turmeric
8-10 curry leaves
2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
INGREDIENTS FOR BATTER
1.5 cups of besan
Water as required
Salt to taste
TO SERVE

Left over fried batter
Fried green chilies
Green chutney( optional)
Pav
INSTRUCTIONS
Heat oil in pan
Add mustard seeds , hing , curry leaves and crushed chilli and garlic
Sauté for few mins
Switch of flame and add the turmeric, coriander leaves and salt
Now add the boiled potatoes
Mix well
Your potato vada mix is ready
Shape them into lemon sized balls
In a bowl add the besan , salt and water to make a thin batter
Heat oil for deep frying the batata vadas
Dip the Batata vadas in batter and deep fry them in oil until golden
Serve them hot with ghati masala , pav and green chilies
