WHITE PEAS BHAJI
INGREDIENTS
1cup white peas, soaked overnight or for a few hours
Oil
½ cup fresh coconut, sliced or grated
1tsp coriander seeds
Little coriander leaves
¼ tsp mustard seeds
¼ tsp cumin seeds
Few curry leaves
5-6 garlic cloves, roughly pound with skin
1 big onion, chopped
Salt
Pinch of hing
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1-2 tbsp Shilpas Masala mill everyday masala
¼ tsp Turmeric powder
½ tsp Coriander powder
½ tsp Cumin powder
1-2 Tomato, chopped
1tsp lemon juice
Coriander leaves, chopped
INSTRUCTIONS
add 1tbsp oil and roast the fresh coconut for 4-5 mins
Then add the coriander seeds and roast for another 2-3 minutes
Remove, cool, add little coriander leaves and then grind it to a fine paste
Keep aside for use later
In the same pressure cooker add more oil
Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves,hing, garlic cloves and onions and fry it for a few minutes
Add ginger-garlic paste
Add the powdered masalas, salt and fry
Add the ground coconut paste tomatoes and fry until oil separates
Add the white peas and fry for 1-2 minutes
Now add hot water and bring to a boil
Add lemon juice
Then pressure cook the white peas until it’s cooked( 3-4 whistles)
That’s it, garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rice,bhakri, chapati
