CHAVLI CHI AAMTI (CKP style)
BLACK EYED BEANS CURRY
INGREDIENTS
100 gms chavli , soaked overnight
1 onion , finely cut
½ cup fresh coconut , ground
½ tsp jeera powder
2 tsp of Shilpa’s Masala Mill Everyday Masala
1tsp green chilli,garlic and coriander paste
½ tsp shilpa’ s Masala Mill special garam masala
Small piece of jaggery
3-4 Kokum
Coriander leaves , chopped for garnish
Salt to taste
Oil
INSTRUCTIONS
HEAT oil in pan
Add onions and sauté for 3-4 mins
Add the chawli ( black eyed beans )
Sauté for 2-3 mins
Then add turmeric, jeera powder, everyday masala, garlic chilly and coriander paste and garam masala
Fry for few more mins
Add hot water and allow chavli to cook ( takes around 10 mins)
Once cooked, take little cooked chavli and the ground coconut in a mixer jar and blend it once again
Add this mixture ( vatan ) to the curry
Add jaggery , and kokum , salt and coriander leaves
Give a quick boil and that’s it, chavli chi AAMTI is ready
Enjoy with bhakris, rice, chapati
