HYDERABAD'S FAMOUS KARACHI BISCUIT VEGETARIAN TUTTI FRUTTI BISCUITS
INGREDIENTS
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
½ cup powdered sugar ( grind regular sugar)
½ tsp cardamom powder
½ tsp pineapple essence or rose essence
1cup maida
¼ cup custard powder
2-3 tbsp of cashew powder
½ tsp baking powder
A pinch of salt
½ cup tutti frutti
Few Chopped cashews
INSTRUCTIONS
Cream together the butter and sugar for around 4-5 mins
Add essence and cardamom powder and orange zest
Add rest of the dry ingredients to the butter mixture in stages and combine
Add tutti frutti and cashew nuts
Mix with spatula
Bind the mixture with your hand
If mixture is dry you can add 2-3 tbsp of milk
Roll the mixture into a cylindrical shape first and then into rectangular shape
Wrap with cling wrap and keep in fridge for 2-3 hours
Remove and cut ¼ inch thickness
Arrange on baking tray
Bake at 170 c for 12-15 mins ( until the bottom turns golden brown)
Remove and allow to cool
